Granny’s Attic Handmade is all about taking loved furniture and giving it a new lease of life. It might be a piece of furniture you’ve had knocking round for a while, not quite sure where it should go because it doesn’t quite fit with your home decor. Or it might be a something you’ve inherited from a relative which is well loved but has seen better days and needs a re-vamp. Or it might be something you’ve found in a second hand store (or picked up from a skip!) and seen potential in, if only it was a different colour/had different fabric/had new handles….

 

When you come to Granny’s Attic, we work with you to design the furniture transformation just as you wish it to be. You can be assured that the finished result is truly bespoke – just as unique as you and your home.

 

Although we do occasionally have a small stock of already upcycled pieces of furniture (see shop), our main passion is working with you to transform your furniture. We love meeting with you and seeing your furniture to discuss any sanding, varnishing, painting or staining that the woodwork requires. In addition, unlike some upholstery services, at Granny’s Attic we don’t stock a restricted set of fabrics you have to choose from. The sky is your limit! When discussing your requirements, we can advise you on the type and quantity of fabric you will require. As we are based in Birmingham, we have so many amazing fabric choices around us that means you have unlimited choice! Previous customers have used The Fancy Silk Store, the Rag Market, Guthrie and Ghani amongst other places.

Have you got a much -loved piece of furniture that needs restoration? When you come to Granny’s Attic, we work with you to design the furniture transformation just as you wish it to be. You can be assured that the finished result is truly bespoke – just as unique as you and your home. Have a look at some of the projects we’ve worked on over the years for inspiration.

We also stock a selection of unique, hand-upcycled furniture in our online shop. Have a look and see what you can find! All pieces are available to look at in our workshop in Bournville, Birmingham if you want to see them in the flesh!
