Giving new life to pre-loved furniture

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint project

This was a chair rescued en route to the tip. The original wood was in good condition, just very dated dark wood stain. I chose this lovely Annie Sloan chalk paint and finished it with Annie Sloan clear wax on top. The original cushion was a faded peach velvet with some stains, the origins of which were unknown. Hmm. On stripping down, the underlying foam had completely disintegrated and needed replacing. I wanted to contrast the delicate bird pattern on the cream fabric with a something brighter against the chalk paint, so I sewed some turquoise panels either side of the central patterned fabric before re-covering the seat pad.

Annie Sloan chalk paint is available in a variety of colours. Get in touch to discuss how we could use it to transform your furniture!
